. Mare Nostrum is a civilization game in which 3 to 5 players lead their respective empires to dominate the ancient world. You will increase the fame and glory of your respective empire in order to dominate the ancient world. You'll expand your empire's fame and glory by extending your influence into new provinces and setting up caravans, markets, temples and cities. You can also call on powerful Heroes and build Wonders to help you realize your designs. But watch out for your neighbors! They may look on enviously at your gains... and thwart your dreams of supremacy over the Mediterranean basin!

In Mare Nostrum, the basic game, you have access to 5 civilizations: Rome, Carthage, Greece, Egypt and Babylon. Each starting hero grants his civilization a specific advantage that will enable it to develop and rise to the rank of empire.
Mare Nostrum is a strategy game. It pushes you to make the best plans to achieve your goals. And there are many of them. You'll have to make the most of the different phases of the game, which represent the different aspects of Mare Nostrum: Trade, Politics and Military. Playable from 3 to 5 players, the game includes a board and additional small boards, allowing you to adapt the board to each configuration, for better visibility.
