With the addition of the Atlantean civilization, you can now play Mare Nostrum with up to 6 players, or simply vary civilizations with 3, 4 or 5 players. And the Atlantean civilization doesn't come alone: 5 additional heroes are now available to vary the pleasures and create new strategies.
Want to play with two players? The Atlas expansion lets you replay the Punic Wars. Like a chess game, both players will have to pay attention to the slightest of their opponents' actions and react accordingly. The barbarians, used wisely, will help you to tip the balance in your favor.
Finally, the Atlas expansion allows you to play with one or more mini-expansions based on the legendary cities. Playing with the Troy expansion will encourage the military aspect of Mare Nostrum, while Syracuse will help players develop their economy. Finally, Jerusalem lets you call on the gods to protect you or attack your opponents.
